No, no, no, it’s not because of the effort. I got tired of it. I got bored with it. I wanted something more abstract, I wanted to write something other than the three-minute pop tune even though that’s an art form unto itself. Gershwin was incredible, Cole Porter was incredible, Richard Rodgers, great stuff, Hoagy Carmichael and John Lennon, the three-minute symphony. For me, it was a box. I want to get out of the box. I never liked being put in a box.

What if I ran a Fuck Yeah Stephen Sondheim “Best Sondheim Slashfic” contest this summer? Worst idea or Best worst idea?

Why on Earth was the line drawn right at us? Are we not valid? Do we not have a generational community? Why should we be told by scholars and journalists to identify with a generation whose median is around a decade younger or older than we are? I have never wanted to be stereotyped so badly.

Is anyone doing the Scientific 7-Minute Workout? (Someone even made a YouTube video to help with the timing.) Setting aside the fact that ~~I’m not sure I have~~ I definitely don’t have room in my apartment to do this (stand on a chair? ha!), I find it intriguing. I’d love to hear your thoughts. (I could do it outside as long as the weather is nice enough.
