No, the guy on the left did not grow up to become the guy on the right. We debunk The Tale of The Wonder Years’ Paul and Marilyn Manson, plus 10 other pop culture urban legends, in this new photo gallery.

The resemblance is striking though.

When The Wonder Years was on television, I was roughly the same age as the main characters. And I also bore an unfortunately striking resemblance to Paul. That was not great for my junior high experience.

Thankfully, I grew out of it and do not look anything like Marilyn Manson.

Year later, I peed at a urinal next to Fred Savage when I saw a play he directed at a tiny theater in LA. I refrained from telling him about my junior high experience.
