The Broadway-bound production of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” has found a leading lady who fits the glass slipper – as well as the actor to play her prince. Laura Osnes, who starred as the outlaw Bonnie Parker in the Broadway musical “Bonnie & Clyde” last year, will play a re-invented Cinderella in the production aiming to open during the 2012-13 theater season, while Santino Fontana
I like everything about this except that Cinderella neither needs another overhaul nor a Broadway production.
I do love the way the R&H Organization seems to have taken Laura Osnes under their wing, reminiscent of the way Dick Rodgers himself used to look out for the careers of his ingenues like Shirley Jones, Florence Henderson, et al.
