I knew that used book stores in NY were better than those in Boston, but Jesus Christ! Today at Housingworks in SoHo, I not only picked up this rare promotional single from Avenue Q (more on that in a second), but I also got Ilya Darling on LP (for 70 cents!), an LP boxed set of “32 of the greatest songs by Dietz & Schwartz” performed by Nancy Dussault, Karen Morrow, and others, Michael Feinstein’s new book on the Gershwins, and a One Direction CD (for $3.50!).
For those of you too young to remember, Avenue Q made waves during its first year on Broadway by signing an exclusive agreement with Steve Wynn to bring the show to Vegas instead of touring. This was particularly startling because they announced the deal before Tony voting, and pundits were sure that this move—sure to piss off the important road presenter voting block—was as good as guaranteeing Wicked would win Best Musical.
Well, Wicked lost, but Avenue Q fizzled in Vegas and as soon as that production closed, a tour went out anyway.
I had never heard this song before today. It’s cute.
My BATHROOM is two rooms and includes both a shower and a tub.
I have a king-sized bed plus a sitting room with a sofa that seats at least six. Plus an office area with a printer. I’m pretty sure this room is bigger than my boyfriend’s apartment.
