Cinderella: International Tour

And now I must transfer all six recordings of this score in my collection onto my iPhone. Here’s Lea Salonga from the International Tour singing “When You’re Driving Through The Moonlight.”

I will not get sucked into watching a third version of Cinderella this weekend. I will not get sucked into watching a third version of Cinderella this weekend I will not oh fuck it.

And by the way, if you’ve never seen the original version of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, starring Julie Andrews, that’s on YouTube too.

Remember when I said I wasn’t sure if I’ve seen the Lesley Ann Warren remake of Cinderella? Working on it.

Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark and the cast of Cinderella perform on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Um…I’m sold.

Um, why didn’t I wake up earlier? My entire family is excited about this. I grew up on the Lesley Ann Warren Cinderella. One can only hope they use the same sets and special effects.

I didn’t really grow up with R&H Cinderella, although I was certainly aware of its existence and knew a couple of the songs. When the Brandy version aired my sophomore year in college, I was shocked how into it my Navy ROTC roommate was… turns out he had grown up with the Lesley Ann Warren version too.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the Warren version, although I certainly own the soundtrack. My heart belongs to Julie Andrews. But I’ll be there for this.

(From Roger & Hammerstein’s Cinderella)

It hurts. It physically hurts me how perfect this is.

I like this about a gazillion times more than I expected to.

(I mean, I’ve seen Laura Osnes three times in Rodgers & Hammerstein shows, I don’t know why I’m surprised.)
