One of the many sub-collections within my music collection is covers of showtunes by pop, rock, jazz, opera, country, rap, metal, etc. acts. Not sure I’ve heard O’Connor’s “Don’t Cry For Me” before, but she’s a frequent contributor to this collection.
ETA: Just kidding, as soon as I started listening I realized I have the album this comes from. (It’s excellent.)
Still one of my favorite albums.
I hasten to add that I had already amassed quite a collection of LPs and cassettes by that point, and I have no idea what my first of either of those would be.
The first digital music file I bought (as opposed to just downloaded for free) was “America, Fuck Yeah!” from Team America, World Police.
