This showed up on Facebook today (thanks to a Michael Musto blog post)… Raquel Welch sings “Aquarius” and “Let The Sunshine In” with… a bunch of people dressed like Mayan mythological figures? I’m not really sure what’s going on here.

I love Hair, and I also love all of the material that amassed around Hair. There are songs that were written for the original off-Broadway version that got dropped, songs written for spin-off albums based on the show that were never actually part of the show, etc.
I’m not sure if this song was cut from the show or a later musicalization of a speech that still exists in the show. This recording is from the album DisinHAIRited, one of two albums of this kind of material released during the show’s original run. (The other album is Fresh HAIR, which was recorded with members of the London company.)
I got a free tube of Axe Spiking Glue thanks to the good people at Klout. I thought I’d try it out on video, mostly so I could play with my new MacBook Air and iMovie.
